DiNardo, Joseph R.Seaman 1st ClassUnited States Navy

Joseph was born and raised on Hill Street, South Troy to Ralph and Armida DiNardo on May 12, 1926. In May 1944, he joined the US Navy–Basic Training at Sampson Naval Base, Finger Lakes, as well as Norfolk Naval Base, Virginia. He was stationed on the USS Duluth, South Pacific Theatre as Seaman 1st Class. Joseph proudly served as top deck security look out for Japanese enemy Kamikaze war planes. Joseph was honorably discharged in May 1946.
