James A. Agars, son of Anna and Sylvester Agars, was a graduate of Catholic Central High School class of 1937. Jim worked at the Watervliet Arsenal prior to entering the Army in 1941. He was part of the Field Artillery serving in North Africa where he was wounded. Jim died in Normandy, France on July 6, 1944. He is a Purple Heart recipient and his name is on the CRAB Post in Troy’s Little Italy neighborhood.
